Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

CERT logoWant to learn how you can make a difference in your community during times of crisis? Apply to attend the next Haltom City Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training class!

The CERT program is a nationally supported, locally implemented program that educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area.

Volunteers are trained in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

The qualifications to be a Haltom City CERT member include:

  • Live or work within the City of Haltom City
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Be able to perform light physical activity - some lifting involved
  • Successfully pass a background check with no felony convictions
  • Completed the required CERT training as determined by the Haltom City DEM.
