Due to the storm and damaging winds on Sunday, June 16, 2019, the city's contractor for refuse & recycling, Waste Connections, is allowing residents over the next couple of weeks to drop off their limbs and brush at their Transfer Station. The Waste Connections Transfer Station is located at 2120 Minnis Dr., just SOUTH of 121. Google maps lists that address as north of 121, but it is located south of 121.
Please bring your driver's license & water bill as proof of residence.
Disposing of brush & limbs during this time will not count towards a household's limitation of 4 bulk drops offs or 1 ton of debris in a 12-month period at the Waste Connections Transfer Station.

Fathom & Haltom City will continue installing new automated water meters that will communicate electronically and give Haltom City customers the ability to monitor their water usage and deliver important real-time information. Regular usage and usage spikes can be monitored and reported, providing citizens the opportunity to detect water leaks. The ability to detect leaks early can result in money savings for our customers. More details will be shared here on the City’s website as progress ensues.
“Haltom City is proud to serve as a role model for smart, responsible water use,” said Rex Phelps, Assistant City Manager of Haltom City. “Fathom’s software solutions will allow us to operate with greater efficiency, bill customers more accurately and deliver unparalleled customer support. The Fathom partnership provides multiple benefits for both Haltom City and its residents, and we are thrilled to join this network.”
“Communities across the United States are struggling with high—and continually rising—wholesale water prices,” said Trevor Hill, CEO of Fathom. “Our mission at Fathom is to reduce the burden that water scarcity places on both utilities and their residents by providing actionable data insights to drive efficiency at both the environmental and financial levels.”
Fathom provides comprehensive meter-to-customer solutions to help water utilities do more with declining resources. Fathom’s cloud-based geospatial offerings, including Meter Data Management (MDM), Customer Information System (CIS) and U2You (Utility-to-You) online customer portal, are rapidly deployable, risk-free and transform real-time meter data into a proven, turn-key, single-source, meter-to-cash solution. Founded in 2003, the company has more than 150 employees based in Phoenix, Austin, and Alpharetta, GA and over 150 public water systems and partners.
The citizens of Haltom City will notice an increase in their water and sewer rates as a result of cost increases from its supplier, the City of Fort Worth. Effective October 1, 2017, the fiscal year 2017-2018 water rates have increase by 8%. This increase is strictly related to the cost of water purchased from the City of Fort Worth.
Because the Haltom City realizes the importance of its citizens to monitor water use, the City will employ the complete suite of FATHOM's water management platform. The new Smart Grid for water uses Advanced Metering Infrastructure technology to remotely collect near-real-time water meter data. This new service, implemented in 2018, will result in no additional costs to our citizens It will improve how citizens are able to monitor their water use. More information regarding the FATHOM partnership can be found at www.haltomcitytx.com/fathom.
