Tarrant County Public Health has confirmed the presence of the West Nile Virus (WNV) in two mosquito samples collected within Haltom City. Once sample was collected in an area by Estes Park Road and the other was collected in an area by Diamond Oaks Drive South.
Weather permitting, ground spraying will take place within a half-mile of the trap collection site the evenings of Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, 2020. Spraying activity will occur between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. both nights while mosquitoes are active and winds are low.
Haltom City reminds residents of the importance of taking personal protective measures to safeguard against the West Nile Virus. Residents should routinely dump standing water on their property, use repellent and cover their extremities from dusk to dawn.
