Roy Avery Hord

April 16, 1974 – December 9, 2018

roy hordOn December 9, 2018, we lost one of our most treasured city employees, Roy Avery Hord. Roy served Haltom City for over 22 years. He started as a Maintenance Worker and through the years was promoted to numerous positions, including Crew Leader, Construction Inspector, Water Production Operator and Water Production Supervisor.

Roy would do anything he could to help others. His kindness, positivity and humble nature were obvious to anyone who encountered him. He was known for his sense of humor, gregarious personality and the biggest of smiles.

Please join me in sending thoughts and prayers to Roy’s family and friends, so that they may find strength and comfort during this most difficult time. Roy will be greatly missed by his fellow employees and the Haltom City community at large.

May God Bless Roy and his family. Visitation and funeral service information can be found here.

Respectfully and Sincerely,

David Averitt

Carson St. Bridge Closure

Closed for Approximately One Year Starting November 13, 2017

haltom city public works The current phase of the Little Fossil Creek Improvements Project will require the closure of Carson St. under State Hwy 121. Beginning Monday, November 13, 2017, Carson St. under SH 121 will remain closed for approximately 10 months to a year. Presently, this project is on track to finish in October 2018.

The northbound (NB) & southbound (SB) Carson St. detours will be as follows:

  • Northbound Carson St. traffic will be required to turn right onto the northbound SH 121 frontage road. If NB Carson St. traffic wants to head towards Fort Worth, this traffic can take the “Texas U-Turn” at Minnis Dr. to access the southbound SH 121 frontage road.
  • Southbound Carson St. traffic will be required to turn right onto the southbound SH 121 frontage road. If SB Carson St. traffic wants to head towards Richland Hills, Hurst, Arlington, etc., this traffic can take the “Texas U-Turn” at Hickory Dr. to access the northbound SH 121 frontage road.

The frontage roads will be open; however, there may be times during construction where a portion of a frontage road will need to be closed. Advanced notice will be given here when this is scheduled to occur.
