mosquito preventionTarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) in mosquito samples collected in two areas within the City of Haltom City. The first sample is from an area in Northeast Haltom City around Estes Park Drive (confirmed last week and the week prior). The second sample is from an area in east Haltom City around Diamond Oaks Drive South (confirmed two weeks ago).

Weather permitting (wind speeds must be under 10 mph), Haltom City will spray both locations on Thursday, July 14th, 2016. Ground spraying will start at 9:00 p.m. and conclude by 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

Haltom City reminds residents of the importance of taking personal protective measures to safeguard against the West Nile Virus. Residents should routinely dump standing water on their property, use repellent and cover their extremities from dust to dawn. Haltom City has compiled a list of ways You Can Protect Yourself from mosquito-born illnesses.
