On Saturday, August 1, 2020 at approximately 9:45 p.m. Haltom City officers responded to a residence in the 4900 block of Orien St. in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a seven-year-old male victim with multiple stab wounds. While officers began immediate first-aid to the victim, officers located the suspect at the intersection of Katrine St and Katrine Ct. The suspect, the twenty-year-old brother of the victim, had an apparent self-inflicted wound to his upper-body. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and provided first-aid.
The suspect was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment of his wounds. The victim was transported to Cook Children's Medical Center. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all involved, the victim was pronounced deceased a short time after arrival.
