Shooting – 4100 Northern Cross Blvd.
On Monday, June 1, 2020, at approximately 2:45 p.m. Haltom City officers responded to The Grand on Beach apartment complex, located at 4100 Northern Cross Blvd, in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male in his early thirties with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. First aid was rendered and the male was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital for treatment. After an investigation, it was determined that the male was shot while attempting to force entry into an apartment. Due to his injuries and need for medical treatment, the suspect was released at the hospital with charges pending.
After interviewing several witnesses and the victim, it is believed the suspect and several other males and females attempted to force their way into the victim’s apartment. The victim, believing his life was in danger, fired a single round from a handgun towards the suspect. This appears to stem from a personal feud between residents of the victim’s apartment and the suspect. The victim, a 19 year old male, was released at the scene and charges are not anticipated. No arrests were made at this time.
This is still an on-going investigation and additional arrests and/or charges may be forthcoming. Information will be released as it becomes available.
