This press release is a summary of the facts and circumstances known at the time. The incident is still actively being investigated so the information provided in this press release is subject to change. Additional details will be released to the public as they become available.

On December 15, 2019 just after 2:00 p.m., Haltom City and Richland Hills Police Officers responded to the Rio Vista Apartment complex (6324 Baker Blvd) in reference to possible shots fired in the area. While checking the complex, officers found a juvenile male with apparent gunshot wounds in the north parking lot. The juvenile was transported to North Hills Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. Due to the victim being a juvenile, no identifying information will be released at this time. Haltom City Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and Crime Scene Unit responded to the location to investigate. Working closely with other local agencies, the investigation led to the identification and apprehension of two suspects. The suspects are both juvenile males, aged 16 and 15. They were transported to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center, where they are being held on the charge of murder. Due to the suspects’ age, no identifying information will be released at this time. The victim and suspects are residents of Richland Hills and the motive for this tragedy is still being investigated.
