UPDATE - June 20, 2019 | 2:30 p.m.

Mario Almanza has been safely located.

On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at approximately 7:55 PM, Haltom City Officers were dispatched to a follow-up investigation from a call earlier in the day in the 5700 block of Melinda St. Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who told them that his uncle, Mario Almanza, had left the house that morning to walk to the PDK convenience store at 4600 Denton Hwy. Mario was seen on surveillance cameras at the PDK at approximately 8:00 a.m. that morning. Mario left the store, walking southbound on Denton Hwy.

The complainant told the officers that Mario had suffered a traumatic brain injury in the past that affected his short term memory. The complainant told officers that his uncle can get lost and disoriented easily as a result of the injury. Mario is also diabetic and suffers from high blood pressure. The complainant told officers that Mario usually returns with no issues but has not returned on this occasion. Officers requested activation of the Endangered Missing Person Alert through the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Mario Almanza is 59 years old, 5’8” tall, and weighs 230 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and white shirt, gray pants, and black shoes. Mario was wearing a gold colored bracelet with his name on it in big letters. Mario also has a scar above his right eye. Anyone with information on the location of Mario Almanza, please contact the Haltom City Police Department at 817-222-7000 or dispatch at 817-281-1000.
