5700 block of Highland Ave. | Haltom City, TX

haltom city police department logoOn Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 22:01 hours, Haltom City Police responded to a residence in the 5700 block of Highland Ave. in reference to a drive-by shooting. Upon arrival at the residence, officers discovered a 45 year old female had been shot 3 times: once in the left arm and twice in her lower back. We believe she was struck by .45 caliber pistol rounds, as officers recovered several spent .45 caliber casings in front of the residence.

The victim was given first aid until she was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were other family members in the residence at the time of the shooting, but no other injuries. At this time, we are unaware of a motive or suspects in this shooting. Neighbors describe seeing an older, silver or white Chrysler 300 with dark tinted windows and large rims fleeing the area immediately after hearing gunfire. A search of the area was unable to locate a vehicle matching this description.
