COVID-19 Precautionary Measures

HALTOM CITY MUNICIPAL COURT

In an abundance of caution and as a result of the Tarrant County Executive Order related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the courts will be cancelling and rescheduling all the court dates scheduled for the entire month of April, 2020.

If you feel that the court doesn’t have your correct mailing address you need to contact the court and give your most current address. All rescheduled court dates will be mailed out to the defendants at the address the court has on record. It is the defendant’s responsibility to let the court know of any change of address after citations are issued.

Payments can be made in the Haltom City drop box on the east side of City Hall, located at 5024 Broadway. Please only leave cash during business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please also note “COURT” on any envelope left in drop box.

Effective immediately, due to the unprecedented nature of this situation, and in an abundance of caution, the following will be in place:

  • Bench Trials scheduled for the entire month of April, 2020 shall be cancelled and rescheduled after June 1, 2020.
  • Any defendant or attorney may reset their court date without penalty.  The court must be notified in writing via email, facsimile, mail or in person.
  • For March and April 2020, Attorneys currently set on the A3 docket will be rescheduled to the PT-A2 docket. They may also have a reset without penalty.
  • Defendants may receive deferred disposition at the window and may have up to 30 days to pay (90 days deferred disposition or 120 for defendants under 25).
  • Defendants may elect defensive driving at the window and may have up to 30 days to pay their fee. This includes those defendants who have passed their initial appearance date.
  • Defendants may receive compliance dismissals at the window with proof of compliance, including those that are beyond their initial appearance date. They may have up to 7 days to pay the dismissal fee.
  • Due dates for DSC and payments will be extended for 30 days.
  • Due dates for initial appearances will be extended for 30 days.
  • This order shall be in place until April 20, 2020 and may be extended as needed.

Please be advised that voluntary online payment will result in a conviction and will be reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety which may result in points on your driving record or a surcharge.

  • Request a driving safety course or deferred disposition for possible dismissal of my violation.

DO NOT make a payment on-line if the following apply to you:

  • You want to request a driving safety course or deferred disposition.
  • You were under the age of 17 at the time of receiving the citation and you have not appeared in open court before the Judge. Note: certain violations received as a juvenile will not allow you to pay online even if you have a judgment.

Important Information When Paying For An Active Warrant Online


You may pay for an active warrant of arrest using this online payment system; however, you are still subject to arrest until the Judge has accepted your payment as a plea of guilty and the case has been processed. The payment must pay the warrant amount in full. This system will not allow partial payments unless the case is set on a payment plan. Payments will be processed within 2 business days. Please note that payments might be delayed due to City holidays.
