CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Suzanne Norris called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

PRESENT: Norris, Davenport, Geltmeier, McConnell, Dunbar, Williams, Coffman

  1. CONSIDERATION AND/OR ACTION REGARDING APPROVAL OF MINUTES February 19, 2019 - It was moved by Williams seconded by Geltmeier to approve the minutes of February 19, 2019 as written. The motion prevailed unanimously.

  2. NEW BUSINESS

    Fire Clown Supplies – Derek Paradise and Carlos Vaquera spoke to the Board about the needs of the Fire Safety Clown program. The Clowns will be attending the LAFS Conference/Training in May. Spring Shows, at Birdville Elementary schools, will be held the week of May 13th. Spring Shows will center on Road, Firework, Bar-B-Q/Fire pit and Pool Safety. The show will expand into Watauga, Richland Hills, and Fort Worth. The Fire Safety Clowns will also attend “Refresh”, which is a Birdville district wide event. Haltom City’s Clown program has been asked to work with Keller and NRH’s programs as well. Derek Paradise sent survey’s to the elementary schools, last year after the programs, and received good feedback from the teachers.

    The Fire Safety Clown program is in need of a new sound system. The current sound system is actually considered illegal. Derek Paradise showed the Board a list of the needed items totaling $2,762.19. There is also a need for additional set and prop equipment totaling $1,500.00. Elizabeth Dunbar will also get a bid on the equipment.

    It was moved by Williams and seconded by Geltmeier to approve up to $2,763.00 for the purchase of the needed Fire Safety Clown equipment. The motion prevailed unanimously.

    CarFest is Saturday, April 6th.

    Board members will be at HHS at 8:45 for set up. Event is 10-2.

  3. OLD BUSINESS

2019 Annual Fire Banquet

The Board discussed this year’s banquet. Everyone was pleased with the banquet! The food was great, the decorations were great, the facility was great. Coach Tucker did a great job speaking. Diamond Oaks’ bill was $4,295.48, FSB will pay 2,295.48 and the HC Fire Association will pay $2,000.00.

BUDGET UPDATE

Chairperson Norris gave a Budget Update.

VOLUNTEER HOURS - All present log Volunteer hours for the meeting. Amy asked that all members count their volunteer hours and submit them to her as soon as they can.

ADJOURN – It was moved by Davenport and seconded by McConnell to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
