Update - Small Business Assistance Grants
UPDATE FROM TARRANT COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - Aug 4, 2020
The Tarrant County Auditor’s Office staff continues to review the applications submitted for the Small Business Assistance Grants distributed through the CARES ACT. They have added and trained several people to assist in the process. Last week, the first 107 grant awards totaling $926,850 were sent out to businesses. This week, another 208 grant awards totaling $1,773,814 will be mailed. Linked below, the Care 4 Tarrant reports for July 28th and August 4th provide information on the grant awards issued per city.
We know the review process is taking some time, and that businesses may be contacting you, as they are us, to find out the status of their applications. All businesses that applied will be sent an email advising them either of an award or if they were ineligible due to various reasons. The Auditor’s Office hopes to have all eligible applicant grants awarded by the end of this month. As some of the ineligible emails have gone out, applicants have emailed us back asking to change their location address, change an answer to a question, etc. Unfortunately, we cannot reopen the application portal or make changes to an application after the application and the information provided was attested to and submitted by the applicant. We encourage these applicants to monitor our County website should additional future grant funding become available.
Currently, business and residential applications are ongoing for $10 million in Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) set aside for the Rental Assistance Program. Applications for rental assistance can be made here:
