refresh bisd haltom cityFor the past eight years, Haltom City has hosted the Annual Back to School Health Fair every July. This event provided backpacks, school supplies and community resources to Haltom City elementary and middle school students, assisting families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Over these last eight years our Health Fair has given over $180,000 worth of resources to our local students.

We are thrilled to announce that this year Haltom City will be joining Refresh BISD for their back to school event. Refresh BISD will serve students who are eligible for free and reduced lunch programs in all 25 elementary and middle schools in Haltom City, North Richland Hills and Richland Hills attending the Birdville Independent School District (BISD). Refresh BISD will be Saturday, August 18th, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Wiley G. Coliseum (mapped below). During Refresh BISD, there will be backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, eye exams, hot dogs, helpful resources and plenty of fun. Refresh BISD aims to help get students ready for the school year, connect families with their community and transform our cities.

Refresh BISD began as a one-day back-to-school event in 2015 but has since evolved in to much more than that. The mission of Refresh BISD aims to help get students ready for the school year, connect families with their community and in the process transform our cities. The goal of Refresh BISD is to provide an opportunity to help families physically, relationally and spiritually. Refresh BISD, a program initiated out of the Community Enrichment Center (CEC), supports their vision of breaking the cycle of poverty and family violence in Northeast Tarrant County.

Refresh BISD online registration is now open until July 9, 2018. No school supplies will be delivered to school campuses after Refresh, so you must pre-register and attend to receive them.
