A General and Special Election was held in Haltom City on Saturday, May 5, 2018 for the purpose of electing Council Places 3, 4, 5 and 6. In the Special Election, two propositions were presented to the voters.
Linda Thompson, Council Place 3, ran unopposed. The other three places were contested with Council Place 4 Incumbent Trae Fowler being challenged by candidate Brent Weast. In addition, Council Place 5 Incumbent Bob Watkins was challenged by candidate Willis O’Dell and Council Place 6 Incumbent Ricky Brown was challenged by candidate Chris Bethel.

“The issuance of not to exceed $28,900,000 of City of Haltom City, Texas general obligation bonds for designing, acquiring, constructing, renovating, improving, and equipping a multi-story facility combining a law enforcement center and city hall and the purchase of land therefore, and the levying of a tax in payment thereof”.
“The issuance of not to exceed $5,500,000 of City of Haltom City, Texas general obligation bonds for designing, acquiring, constructing, renovating, improving, and equipping a fire station facility, with priority given to replacing and relocating fire station #3, and the levying of a tax in payment thereof”.

The Haltom City City Council will conduct Public Hearings for the Fiscal Year 2018 – 2019 budget for the City of Haltom City and Crime Control and Prevention District at 7:00 p.m. on August 27, 2018 and September 10, 2018 at 5024 Broadway Avenue, Haltom City, TX 76117. The public is invited to attend and provide comment.
