Old business / reports
Simple recycle- Christi has a report for February of 1254 lbs.
GCAA – We got third place again and received a score of 90 or higher and still in the sustained excellence. Christi said she sent in the KAB presidents circle that was submitted last week. If we continue as a board putting GCAA together we should start earlier than we did this year.
Business of the Quarter
Business of the quarter will be QT on Beach St and if QT will not work out we will have a backup with HI Line tools.
Clean Campus award
Christi will send an email to all the schools letting them know the dates of judging and rules of the award. Judging will be the first week of April and packets need to be received by the 13th and we can review them on next board meeting. April 27 will be the day we will go to the school and give out the awards.
Carfest is Saturday March the 24th from 10am to 2pm. Birdi, Toni and Bob will be attending with the wheel and handing out Litter information.
Texas Trash Off / Buffs Give Back is Saturday April 7th from 9am to 12pm. Denise said she hadn’t seen as much advertisement for this event. Denise would like to see more advertising with Facebook, signs and the next-door app. Christi said we will have 100 High school students scattered though out the city doing other projects. We will have a shredder truck available for Haltom city residents. The limit will be 4 or 5 boxes Christi will check on the number. We will meet at the environmental center and locate the shredder truck there. Christi said there was a lot of reports of glass on the trails and she will bring some little brooms and dust pans. We need the following supplies snacks, drinks, gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers and T-shirts.
Art in the City – April the 7th.
Christi said this is just an art show that maybe the beautification board can navigate with the senior center with doing 2 craft shows. Wayne has mentioned having community garage sales at the current TCC building.
Special announcement – The city will not pay for the expenses because of it being so expensive last years. The city will only pay the 375.00 fee and or the daily rate of 150.00 for the conference in George Town June 11 thru the 13th. Christi will look into the budget.
