Targeted Ground Spraying Scheduled

The Tarrant County Public Health Department has confirmed the presence of the West Nile Virus (WNV) in two mosquito samples collected in the following area(s) within the Haltom City limits:
Weather permitting (depending on rain and wind), ground spraying will take place within a half-mile of each of the above hundred blocks between the evenings of Friday, August 30, and Monday, September 2. Spraying activities will occur between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. as this is when mosquitoes are active and winds are low.  
Haltom City wants to remind residents of the importance of taking personal protective measures to safeguard against the West Nile Virus. Residents should routinely dump standing water on their property, use repellent and cover their extremities from dusk to dawn. Haltom City has compiled a list of ways to minimize mosquito proliferation around your property:
