The Crime Control and Prevention District (CCPD) in Haltom City is a special district that provides additional funding for public safety initiatives through a dedicated ¼ cent sales tax approved by the voters. The CCPD sales tax dedication is expected to generate approximately 2.61 million per year.

  • Purpose: The CCPD sales tax funds enhance police services, crime prevention programs, and public safety measures beyond what is allocated from the city's general fund.
  • Funding: The CCPD is funded through a dedicated sales tax (.25% or ¼ cent) approved by Haltom City voters.
  • Oversight: The CCPD is governed by a board that includes citizen appointees who oversee budget allocation and program effectiveness.
  • Renewal: Like many Texas CCPDs, Haltom City's district requires periodic voter reauthorization every 10 years.

The CCPD is a special district that is dedicated to crime reduction programs that are funded through sales tax money outside of the city's general budget.

  • Collaborative Focus: School Resource Officers, Alliance for Children, Crime Victim Liaisons, and the Real Time Crime Center
  • Shared Services: Dispatch, Jail, CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and RMS (Record Management System)
  • Recruitment and Training: Accreditation training, licensee exams, and police academy enrollments
  • Equipment and Technology: Uniforms, vests, CID technology/equipment, body worn and vehicle cameras, and radio equipment
  • Crime Prevention/Identification: Crime free multi-housing, community services, cell phone analysis, forensic testing, and the Citizen’s Police Academy
