Haltom City Hall has traditionally been open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Citizens have expressed that conducting business at City Hall during this timeframe is challenging due to their conflicting work schedules. City Hall serves as a hub for walk-in traffic for various services, including paying a water bill, visiting municipal court, obtaining a permit, meeting with departmental staff, and conducting other general business.
In a continued effort to improve services, enhance accessibility for our citizens, and increase operational efficiency, Haltom City Hall will transition to a four-day workweek, Monday through Thursday, with extended hours. This will provide citizens with the option and convenience to conduct business at City Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., effective June 30, 2025.
City Hall will be closed on Fridays to accommodate the new extended hours of Monday through Thursday. Emergency and essential services will remain unchanged. This announcement pertains only to City Hall functions and services. Many other City services and facilities have long been using alternative schedules that better serve the citizens.
This updated schedule reflects the City's ongoing commitment to responsive governance and resident-focused service. With extended hours, residents will have greater access to City Hall services beyond the traditional 8-to-5 hours, making it more convenient for working individuals, busy families, and local business owners to get the support they need.
The new schedule is also expected to support employees' work-life balance, thereby enhancing productivity and staff well-being. Numerous other cities in the area have already adopted a similar schedule and reported that it has made a positive and appreciated impact on the community.
