The City of Fort Worth has officially acquired the MedStar ambulance service. Ambulance services are now provided by Fort Worth EMS, a division of the Fort Worth Fire Department. Haltom City, along with the 14 other cities previously served by MedStar, has chosen to remain part of this new system, now managed by the City of Fort Worth.
This transition is designed to be seamless, with no disruption in service. Ridents can continue to expect the same high standard of emergency medical care.

- Faster response times and ongoing system enhancements
- New ambulances – watch for the blue and white units now serving our area
- EMTs and paramedics will wear new Fort Worth Fire Department uniforms
- The annual ambulance subscription program will continue, with future sign-ups handled by the City of Fort Worth (details here)
