On February 3, 2025, at approximately 10:14 P.M., Haltom City officers responded to a call regarding shots fired in the 5700 block of Coventry Park Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered evidence of a shooting and located one victim who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Crime scene detectives have arrived at the location and are currently processing the scene and collecting evidence. The area is secure, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. One individual has been arrested in connection with the incident and is suspected to have been involved in the crime. The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be made available as they are confirmed. The Haltom City Police Department (HCPD) is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects involved in a fatal road rage shooting that occurred on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Haltom City Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in progress at a business in the 5900 block of Airport Freeway. The victim observed a vehicle pull up and drop off a male who then entered the victim's Chevrolet Avalanche. When the victim attempted to confront the suspect, the suspect fled the scene. The victim reported that a pistol was inside the vehicle.

On Friday, June 28th, 2024, at approximately 8:21 P.M., officers were dispatched to the intersection of NE 28th Street and Higgins Lane for a reported major accident. First responders arrived and located an adult male motorcyclist that had been struck and killed by another vehicle. The HCPD Traffic Unit was called to the scene and took over the investigation.

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, at approximately 3:30 pm, Haltom City Police Officers responded to a report of an injured person at a residence in the 5800 block of Echo Bluff Dr. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation indicates the residence was open for scheduled tours earlier in the day, and the incident is believed to have occurred during that timeframe. Preliminary investigation suggests this was an accidental shooting. The Haltom City Police Department is committed to a thorough investigation and will release more information as it becomes available. On Sunday, February 25, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a Haltom City Police officer observed a black Mustang driving erratically on the 4000 block of Denton Highway. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to yield and continued to evade police. The pursuit extended into Dallas, reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour at times, and culminated in a collision with an SUV at the intersection of Continental Avenue and the IH-35 service road. The driver and passenger of the SUV sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The suspect vehicle, occupied by a driver and three passengers, came to a rest after the collision. All occupants were transported to local hospitals for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Due to the individuals being minors, their identities and specific details of the incident cannot be released at this time. The driver of the Mustang was released into the care of medical personnel for treatment. Out-of-custody charges are expected to include Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle, a felony offense. Once we have the results from the blood sample of the driver and know the full extent of the injuries of their victims, additional charges are anticipated. The Haltom City Police Department remains committed to the safety of our community and will continue to investigate this incident thoroughly.

At approximately 7:10 a.m. on February 4, 2024, Haltom City Police officers responded to a report of an armed suspect attempting to break into an apartment in the Ladera Apartments (2029 Dayton St.) The suspect was able to gain entry to the apartment and a struggle ensued inside between the suspect and the residents. When the officers approached the apartment, they encountered a male with a firearm pointed towards them. Fearing for their safety and the safety of others, one officer discharged their service weapon. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. The intruder, later identified as 21-year-old Victor Castro, was subsequently apprehended, and taken into custody without further incident. The officer has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure during an officer involved shooting investigation. Mr. Castro has been transferred to the custody of the Tarrant County Jail, where he faces charges of: - Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon: This is a second-degree felony, punishable by a prison sentence of 2-20 years and a fine of up to $10,000. - Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Other Felony: This is a first-degree felony, punishable by a prison sentence of 5-99 years or life and a fine of up to $10,000. At this time, a bond has not been for Mr. Castro. The Haltom City Police Department takes the use of force very seriously and understands the significant public interest in such incidents. On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at around 5:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in the 5700 block of Bridgeport Court. They were informed that the suspect was leaving the area in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle and heard a gunshot from within. They secured the scene and cordoned off the area until additional resources arrived. Tactical officers from both the Haltom City and North Richland Hills Police Departments attempted to make contact with the driver. After several failed attempts, officers approached the vehicle and found the man had an apparent gunshot wound to the head. He was provided with immediate medical care and ,transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. This is still an ongoing investigation. Information will be released as it becomes available.

Officers entered the residence and located a deceased adult female and a male with critical injuries. Based upon preliminary information, we are investigating this incident as a possible murder and attempted suicide.
