"Frisbee" golf enthusiasts can find a unique amenity to Haltom City’s North Park (located at Denton Highway and NE Loop 820). An 18-hole disc golf course is available for public use at the park.
Disc golf is an inexpensive way for friends and family alike to participate in a competitive, casual sport whose popularity has soared in recent years. Disc golf follows the same concept as traditional golf but is instead played with a disc, which is strategically thrown into baskets located randomly throughout the course.
Haltom City resident Brandon Melton first presented the idea for the course to the Haltom City Parks & Recreation Board. Once he was able to secure sponsorships he installed the course himself.
Recreation Supervisor Christi Pruitt said “the Recreation Department is excited about having a space in Haltom City that attracts players from around the area."
