Haltom City Animal Services (HCAS) adopted an animal ordinance effective January 25th, 2010 that implements a city registration program for pet cats and dogs to facilitate the reunification of owners with their pets.
Citizens may voluntarily register their pets with Animal Services located at 5312 Midway Road. Voluntary registration is free, and includes an ID tag. Current proof of Rabies vaccination will be required at the time of registration.
For animals that are in violation of city ordinances, HCAS will require registration for such pets. Mandatory licensing can only be completed at the shelter, and requires a onetime fee of $10. Replacement tags will be available at the shelter for a $5 fee.
The new ordinance will help Animal Services reunite pets with their owners, while stressing the importance of keeping pets contained to owner’s property or on a leash. Please call HCAS with any questions at 817 759-2124.
