HCPD - Evading Arrest/Major Collision

On Thursday, May 17, 2018, at approximately 12:36 PM, a Haltom City motorcycle officer initiated a traffic stop on a white 2003 Mercedes sedan that was traveling at a high rate of speed in the 5600 block of SH 121 southbound. Upon activating his emergency lights, the vehicle failed to stop and fled southbound on SH 121. The driver of the vehicle, a 35 year old white female, exited Haltom Road and headed northbound. The driver continued at high rates of speed through the residential neighborhoods until she returned to SH 121 and entered the freeway northbound. The driver exited the highway and turned eastbound onto SH 10 in Hurst. The vehicle continued eastbound at a high rate of speed and attempted to turn northbound onto Norwood Drive where the vehicle struck a gray 2015 Mercedes sedan.
The driver of the white Mercedes then fled the scene of the collision on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the female driver of the white Mercedes was taken into custody.
The two female occupants of the gray Mercedes were transported to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Forthwith multiple fractures. Haltom City detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating the incident. Hurst Police Department officers responded to the scene to investigate the collision. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as it comes available.
