  • Spring Dumpster Day - April 18

    dumpster day haltom cityHaltom City's Spring Dumpster Day will be held this Saturday, April 18th from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Progressive Convenience Center, 2120 Minnis Dr. This bi-annual event gives residents the opportunity to dispose of:

    • Bulk trash including unbundled brush and construction materials
    • Recyclables, including four tires per household, metals, electronics

    Do not bring any liquids or hazardous wastes...these can be dropped off a the Environmental Collection Center.

  • 2015 Photo Contest Winners

    2015 haltom city images of photo contest best of showJudges have studied the 319 entries in the 2015 Images of Haltom City Photo Contest and have chosen the winners. Best of Show honors went to Isabelle Normandin for her picture of a butterfly, entered in the Haltom City Animals Category. The winner will be published in the 2016 Haltom City Community Calendar, and Normandin will receive a $200 prize for her work. Normandin also took honors in the Architecture and Documentary categories.

    Genres include arts/crafts, mystery, romance, children/teens, self help and much more.

Friends of HCPL's '15 Writing Contest

haltom city libraryThink you’ve got what it takes to be a writer? Here’s your chance to show off your talent. The Haltom City Public Library is hosting its 2015 Writing Contest.

The two categories include short story and poetry. and the contest is open to 5th graders on up to adults. The deadline for entry submissions is Saturday, May 30th, 2015. Entries may be submitted online here or dropped off at the Haltom City Public Library during operating hours.

HCPL Public Computer Access

haltom city library computersStarting January 2015 the MetrOPAC library consortium will migrate to a new integrated library system. As part of this process all library cards, including Haltom City Public Library patron cards, musts be re-entered into the public computer database. Internet access on public computers at the HCPL will only be available with a library bar code. Therefore, patrons will need to present a current Haltom City Public Library card or a MetrOPAC library card (i.e., Benbrook, Burleson, Ft. Worth, Keller, Richland Hills or Watauga public libraries).

Summer Adult Softball League

haltom city blast ball leagueHaltom City Parks & Recreation's 2015 men’s summer softball league is now registering teams through May 30th. Games will be played Friday and Sunday nights while  co-ed on Thursday nights. All games are played at North Park (377 & 820).

Register online between April 6th and May 30th. The season begins June 8th. Cost is $35/player.

Summer Blast Ball League

haltom city blast ball leagueBoys and girls ages 3-5 can join Blast Ball, a modified t-ball league. The season will last 6 weeks with one game and one practice per week.

Register online between April 6th and May 30th. The season begins June 8th. Cost is $35/player.

Summer Hot Shots Basketball League

haltom city hot shots basketballBoys and girls ages 9-16 are sure to have a blast this summer during Haltom City Parks & Recreation's summer basketball league. Games and practices will be held at the Haltom City Recreation Center. The season is 6 weeks long and coaches are needed.

Summer Girl's Volleyball League

haltom city parks recreation logoGirls ages 8-14 will love Haltom City Parks & Recreation's 2015 summer volleyball league. Games will be played on Friday nights, with one practice per week. For information call Christi Pruitt, Recreation Supervisor, at 817-831-6471 or via email.

Register online between April 6th and May 30th. The season begins in mid-June. Cost is $30/player or $210/team. Coaches are also needed.

Stage 1 Watering Restrictions In Effect

Under Stage 1 restrictions households and businesses are limited in sprinkler watering to two days per week with the two days determined by the address of the location. Violations are handled by Code Enforcement, 817-222-7732.

  • Residential addresses ending in an even number may water on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Residential addresses ending in an odd number may water on Thursdays and Sundays
  • All non-residential locations, such as apartment complexes, businesses, industries, parks, medians, etc. may water on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • No watering, regardless of address, may take place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on any day
