  • HCFD Smoke Detector Giveaway

    haltom city fire rescue smoke detectorsThe Insurance Council of Texas, through its "We're Out to Alarm Texas" program, has donated 100 smoke detectors to the Haltom City Fire Department. These are available on a first-come first-serve basis to Haltom City low income, elderly, disabled and special needs residents.

    The accompanying video explains the  importance and relevance of the "We're Out to Alarm Texas" program, as representatives from the insurance industry, the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Insurance Council of Texas were in town Thursday, October 2nd to deliver these alarms to Fred Napp, HCFD's Deputy Fire Marshal. Call 817-759-8660 to receive a smoke detector and to schedule an installation.

  • Craft Show - Dec. 6

    haltom city art in city craft showIn conjunction with the Christmas on Broadway Celebration, the Art in the City Committee is hosting craft show from 1-6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6th. The event will be held at the Haltom City Northeast Center, 3201 Friendly Ln. Featured will be 28 local crafters, who will have their wares for sale, just in time for holiday gift-giving.

    This is a free event. Those attending both functions may want to park at the craft show location and walk just down the block where Christmas on Broadway will be taking place at the Haltom City Recreation Center.

  • 2014 Christmas on Broadway

    haltom city 2014 christmas on broadwayChristmas on Broadway, Haltom City's official kickoff to the holiday season, will take place from 3-6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6th, at the Haltom City Recreation Center and Broadway Park (4839 Broadway Ave.). The free event will feature carriage and train rides, a climbing wall, crafts and games, a petting zoo, bounce houses and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

    There is no admission charge, and parking is free. Christmas on Broadway will also feature performances by six elementary school choirs and the Haltom City Community Choir.

Special Storytime at HCPL

haltom city libraryThe North Central Texas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will conduct a special story time for the Haltom City community on Saturday, December 13th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. They will incorporate the teens that they mentor to read holiday books to pre-school and elementary-aged children.

Youth Basketball Now Registering

lil ballersRegistration for Haltom City Parks & Recreation's Youth Basketball and Lil’ Ballers is now under way. Lil’ Ballers is for boys & girls ages 4-6 and youth basketball is for boys and girls ages  7 – 14 years old (as of Sept. 1). Birth certificates are required at time of registration. Online registration, commencing October 27th, can be accessed here.

Team drafts will be in December and the season will begin in January, 2015. Coaches are needed for Lil’ Ballers and Youth Basketball. Please contact Haltom City Parks & Recreation at 817-831-6464 if you have any questions.

Rec Center Seeks Class Instructors

Stage 1 Watering Restrictions In Effect

Under Stage 1 restrictions households and businesses are limited in sprinkler watering to two days per week with the two days determined by the address of the location. Violations are handled by Code Enforcement, 817-222-7732.

  • Residential addresses ending in an even number may water on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Residential addresses ending in an odd number may water on Thursdays and Sundays
  • All non-residential locations, such as apartment complexes, businesses, industries, parks, medians, etc. may water on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • No watering, regardless of address, may take place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on any day
