2nd Postive WNV Sample
- Spraying Scheduled for July 24-26, Weather Permitting
Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) in a mosquito sample collected in the following area within the City of Haltom City: Estes Park Rd. and Bent Creek Dr. A prior WNV sample was detected at Saucer Dr. and Old Denton Rd. on July 7, 2017.
Weather permitting (wind speeds must be under 10 mph), Haltom City will spray the location and surrounding area indicated in the two maps to the left and right on Monday, July 24th, 2017. Ground spraying will start at 9:00 p.m. and conclude by 5:00 a.m. the following morning. If spray conditions are favorable the City will spray the area again on July 25th and July 26th.
Haltom City reminds residents of the importance of taking personal protective measures to safeguard against the West Nile Virus. Residents should routinely dump standing water on their property, use repellent and cover their extremities from dusk to dawn.
