Positive WNV Sample - Spraying Scheduled

Spraying Scheduled for July 10-12, Weather Permitting

haltom city west nile spray map july 10 12 2017Tarrant County Public Health (TCPH) has confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) in a mosquito sample collected in the following area within the City of Haltom City: Saucer Dr. and Old Denton Rd.

Weather permitting (wind speeds must be under 10 mph), Haltom City will spray the location and surrounding area indicated in image at right on Monday, July 10th, 2017. Ground spraying will start at 9:00 p.m. and conclude by 5:00 a.m. the following morning. If spray conditions are favorable the City will spray the area again on July 11th and July 12th.

Haltom City reminds residents of the importance of taking personal protective measures to safeguard against the West Nile Virus. Residents should routinely dump standing water on their property, use repellent and cover their extremities from dusk to dawn. Haltom City has compiled a list of ways You Can Protect Yourself from mosquito-borne illnesses.
