2016 Summer Camps
Are you looking for something to keep your kids active, entertained, and educated this summer? The Recreation Center is offering a full day summer camp for kids ages 6-13. Each week we will keep the kids active, involved, and entertained from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sports camps by Bowmen Sports, arts and crafts, games, movies, outdoor activities, and more will be offered this summer. Early drop-off (starting at 7:30 a.m.) and late pick-up (until 5:30 p.m.) is available. Camp will begin June 6th and run through August 12th. Camps will have limited spaces per week, so register early. Online registration is open now. An enrollment/release from is available for download here. An enrollment fee of $25 and first week’s fee ($100) is due at time of registration in order to secure your spot.

Bowmen Summer Sports Camps 2016
Learn a different sport each week! All camps presented by Bowmen Sports & hosted at the Haltom City Recreation Center for boys and girls, ages 6-12. Cost is only $85/camp per participant. For information contact the Recreation Center at 817-831-6464.
Designed for players of all skills and abilities that are looking for a serious and fun basketball experience. We focus on individual dribbling skills, passing, and shooting, but learn team concepts to put all of the pieces together. This is a skill-based program which utilizes drills and games to reinforce skills being taught. Part of each class time will used for game scrimmages. Bring a snack, water and gym shoes. This camp meets in the gym.
June 20-23 (Monday—Thursday) 1 - 4:00 p.m.
July 25-28 (Monday—Thursday) 1 - 4:00 p.m.
Beginner Soccer Camp
Our action-packed, soccer skills clinic incorporates all fundamental aspects of the game. Players learn passing and receiving, dribbling and ball control. Players also become familiar with soccer rules, game play and basic strategy. Time at each program for scrimmage. All equipment supplied, shin guards not necessary. This camp meets outside.
June 27-30 (Monday—Thursday) 8 - 11:00 a.m.
July 18-21 (Monday—Thursday) 8 - 11:00 a.m.
Our ultra-popular program that includes several versions of Dodgeball. The emphasis is on fun, teamwork and exercise. We will play many different versions of the classic game using the new coated foam balls. These balls are perfect for safe FUN play! Groups divided based on ages. Please bring a snack and gym shoes. This camp meets in the gym.
June 6-9 (Monday—Thursday) 1 - 4:00 p.m.
July 11-14 (Monday—Thursday) 1 - 4:00 p.m.
Flag Football Camp
A combination of QB skills clinic and a traditional flag football program. This clinic teaches players the basics and more about the game of football. Players will memorize plays, routes and become familiar with football formations and basics. We also allow time at the end of each program for a scrimmage game. This camp meets in the gym.
July 5-8 (Tuesday—Friday) 1 - 4:00 p.m.
Speed Sports Camp Clinic
Features a fun, but tough curriculum developed by our training coaches at Bowmen Sports. All drills are age appropriate. We teach proper technique and coach with positive reinforcement. Improve your speed and over all conditioning for the next level of play. Dodgeball, capture the flag, more! This camp meets in the gym.
June 13-16 (Monday—Thursday) 1-4:00 p.m.
August 9-12 (Tuesday—Friday) 8-11:00 a.m.
Created for players of all skills and abilities. The emphasis is on fun, teamwork, skills, and drills . Participants will learn game strategies and have serious fun! Part of class time will be used for game scrimmages. Bring a snack, water, and gym shoes. Knee pads are recommended, but not required. This camp meets in the gym.
