Work on the new Haltom City Fire Station #2 continues, with a completion date of summer 2013 scheduled. AUI Constructors is responsible for construction of the new facility.

The new station, located at 5700 Midway Rd., will replace the city’s oldest station (built in 1966), currently located on Waldemar just off Haltom Rd. Voters approved a proposition for the construction of the new fire station in the amount of $3.655 million in a 2010 general obligation bond election.

The new facility will be approximately 12,000 square feet in size, contain four vehicle bays and provide living quarters for six firefighter personnel.

Once completed the new Station #2 will not only improve rescue capabilities but it will also put the city into an improved rating for insurance coverage.
