Signal Box Artwork Winners

signal box artwork contest winners haltom cityHaltom City is updating the artwork on traffic signal boxes located along city right of ways. To determine the artwork, Haltom City's Art in the City Committee coordinated a contest. The committee sought entries in photography, digital art and paintings/drawings. Judges made their selections, and the new art will be installed in the coming weeks.

Artwork on utility boxes functions as a form of communication to a moving audience with the goal of creating a vibrant, inclusive and interesting urban environment. The successful proposals will foster community pride and contribute to a sense of identity for the citizens.

The installation will involve using a “wrap” on all four sides of each traffic control box. The boxes are located along Haltom Rd., Denton Hwy. and E. Belknap St. A digital image of the winning artwork (seen below) will be used to produce the wrap.
