2014 Photo Contest Winners

2014 images of haltom city photo contest best of showThe 2014 Images of Haltom City Photo Contest has wrapped up, with more than 250 entries vying for honors in nine different categories. Judging took place Thursday, March 27th at the Haltom City Recreation Center.

This year’s judges included Gary Blocker, Cos Deleo and Michelle Cahill, all professionals in the field.

Best of Show (at right) was taken by Haltom City resident Steven Kays.

All entries are on display at the Haltom City Public Library. A presentation program during which all winners & honorable mentions will be recognized will be held at Haltom City City Hall, 5024 Broadway Ave., at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16th.

Begun in 1989 and open to everyone, the contest has attracted entries ranging from family snapshots to true works of art. According to organizers, the idea of the contest has always been to get people outdoors with their cameras and involved in a friendly competition. Winning works are featured in the Haltom City Community Calendar, and winning images, taken within Haltom City limits, earn cash prizes.

The winners & honorable mentions are listed below. The entries can be viewed by clicking on any picture and scrolling through the slideshow. A video of the judging can be seen here.
