Teen Summer Movie Nights

haltom city library teen summer movie nightWant out of the house this summer? Teens entering 7th-12th grades are invited to watch a movie with us each Monday in June at the library! All movies will be PG-13 and will start at 5:00 p.m.

  • June  4 - Pitch Perfect
  • June 11 - Pitch Perfect 2
  • June 18-- Pitch Perfect 3
  • June 25 - School of Rock

Other teen activities hosted at the library this summer include:

Teen Game On! - 6th to 12th Graders

  • Wii games every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

Teen Escape the Room - 7th to 12th Graders

  • Join us on July 13 from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. to solve puzzles, find clues and escape the room! Food provided. Registration is required.

The Haltom City Public Library’s Summer Reading Club, sponsored by the Friends of the Haltom City Public Library, kicks off on Friday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m. with special guest Dallas Puppet Theater. This is the first day to register to start logging your reading for our annual Summer Reading Program.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the Reading Challenge. Stop by the library and register, record your hours, and earn a book bag.

On Saturday, June 2, join us and five other libraries and Birdville ISD at Birdville Reads, for free books, crafts, and fun activities. Birdville Reads will be at the BISD Fine Arts & Athletics Complex.

Birdville Reads - June 2

Join us as we kickoff summer reading with two events

birdville reads haltom cityJoin us on Satur­day, June 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Fine Arts Athletic Complex (FAAC) off of Mid Cities Blvd in North Richland Hills for Birdville Reads. The five public libraries of Birdville Independent School District (BISD), Haltom City, Hurst, NRH, Rich­land Hills & Watauga, will celebrate summer reading together with a free joint kickoff event. Some of the many activities will in­clude a rock climbing wall, animal petting zoo, free book give-away, vehicle petting zoo (city vehicles on display), and cos­tume characters including Baby Mouse, Star Wars, Very Hungry Caterpillar & The Wild Thing.

The HCPL Received the TMLDA Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award for FY2016/17

Only 52 libraries of the 548 library systems in Texas earned this award. This is the Haltom City Public Library's tenth time being awarded this honor.
