Haltom City facilities, including City Hall, are closed today (Friday, Dec. 6th) due to the winter storm. The Haltom City Public Library and Recreation Center will also be closed Saturday, December 7th.
Friday and Saturday trash pickup has been cancelled as well. Normal trash service will resume on Monday, weather permitting.
Christmas on Broadway (Saturday, Dec. 7th) has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

Unofficial Nov 5 Election Results
Unofficial election results from the November 5th, 2013 special election can be downloaded here. The election was held to fill Haltom City city council place 7 and reauthorization, via proposition, of the local sales and use tax at the rate of 1/4 of one percent to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets.

Language Program Offered by HCPL
The world's largest language-learning service is now a free program being offered by the Haltom City Public Library to library card-holders. Pronunciator has 80 languages and 50 languages in which to learn them...for a total of 4,000 possible course combinations.Read more...
The Haltom City Economic Development Corporation has partnered with Tarrant County College Northeast in renovating the Haltom City Civic Center to make it suitable for continuing education classes.
The Civic Center, located at 3201 Friendly Lane, is an advantageous location with ample space to increase TCC NE course offerings. See a short video explaining how the project came about and how it will serve the community.
Programs expected to be offered include pharmacy tech certification, emergency medical services, ESL courses, computer courses and small business management.
TCC has renovated about half of the 17,000 square foot building for classes. The other half of the building will be available to the community as a rental facility. More in formation can be found at the TCC Haltom City Northeast Center website.

Join us at the Haltom City Public Library on Friday, December 6th and Saturday, December 7th for "Photos With Santa". The time for both dates is 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Cost is $5 for an individual picture and $10 for a group shot.

The Haltom City Public Library will be holding a Holiday Storytime on Thursday, December 19th at the 6:30 p.m. Featured will be a puppet show, stories, holiday craft and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Little Fossil Park Renovation
Little Fossil Park is undergoing a renovation project funded by the 2010 bond election. The park will be transformed into a tournament quality girls softball complex with three new fields, new lights and 80 additional parking spaces. City crews are salvaging everything they can from the existing park and have begun the process of preparing the park for construction. Construction will begin in July and should be complete within 6 months.
The park is currently closed to the public until the project is completed.

Youth Basketball Now Registering
Lil’ Ballers is for boys & girls ages 4-6. The cost is $40 for a 6-week season. Players will have one practice and one game per week. Youth Basketball is for boys and girls ages 7 – 14 years old (as of Sept. 1, 2013) and the cost is $60. Birth certificates are required at time of registration. Season will begin in January and practices will begin in December. Coaches are needed for Lil’ Ballers and Youth Basketball.Read more...

This class is appropriate for all ages, including beginners, active older adults, and anyone looking for a fun, high‐energy workout that is easier on the body.
