• HCFD Smoke Detector Giveaway

    haltom city fire rescue smoke detectorsThe Insurance Council of Texas, through its "We're Out to Alarm Texas" program, has donated 100 smoke detectors to the Haltom City Fire Department. These are available on a first-come first-serve basis to Haltom City low income, elderly, disabled and special needs residents.

    The accompanying video explains the  importance and relevance of the "We're Out to Alarm Texas" program, as representatives from the insurance industry, the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Insurance Council of Texas were in town Thursday, October 2nd to deliver these alarms to Fred Napp, HCFD's Deputy Fire Marshal. The consolidated planning process serves as the framework for a community-wide dialogue to identify housing and community development priorities that align and focus funding from the annual funds received by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This survey helps Tarrant County understand current citizens needs and better plan for our future.

  • NE Recycles Day Flea Market - Nov. 15

    northeast recycles day haltom cityIn celebration of America and Texas Recycles Day, Keep Haltom City Beautiful will once again  partner with local communities to host the Northeast Recycles Day Flea Market. The flea market will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 15th. The location is The Hills Business Center at 6357 Boulevard 26, just northeast of Birdville Stadium.

    Besides the annual NEET Flea Market that takes place at the old Richland Plaza, they are hoping to break a world record for the most cardboard boxes collected and used to build a structure. The structure will be a replica of the first Tarrant County Courthouse, which in the mid-1800s was located here in Birdville.

Bounce houses, obstacle courses, face painting, crafts, and more will keep the whole family entertained for Halloween fun. The Costume Contest for ages 2 to 10 begins at 2:00 p.m. sharp. Be sure to arrive early to register your child. Prizes will be given to the winners of each age group.

Information about the five trees available for sale is listed below. Please read it and consider doing your own research to better find a tree that suits your home/business environment and conditions. The cost per tree is $25, except for the vitex tree, which is $20. An online form is available to be filled out and submitted where you can select the type and number of trees you would like to order. Summer Volleyball Camp

Haltom City Parks & Recreation is offering a Summer Volleyball camp for 8-12 year olds and 13-17 year olds. Participants will learn the basics of volleyball, including serving, bumping, setting, exercising and more. The second camp will be a more intense camp to prepare girls for school or club team tryouts. The camps will be held at the Haltom City Recreation Center.

The camp for 8-12 years old will be held from Monday, July 29th to Thursday, August 1st from 1-5:00 p.m. Deadline for registration is July 25th.

The camp for 13-17 year olds will be held from Monday, August 5th to Thursday, August 8th from 1-5:00 p.m. Deadline for registration for this class is August 1st.

Cost is $35 per camp ($5 discount for additional sibling/child).

Youth Basketball Reg. Starts Oct. 27

lil ballersRegistration for Haltom City Parks & Recreation's Youth Basketball and Lil’ Ballers begins October 27th, 2014. Lil’ Ballers is for boys & girls ages 4-6 and youth basketball is for boys and girls ages  7 – 14 years old (as of Sept. 1). Birth certificates are required at time of registration. Online registration, commencing October 27th, can be accessed here.

Team drafts will be in December and the season will begin in January, 2015. Coaches are needed for Lil’ Ballers and Youth Basketball. Please contact Haltom City Parks & Recreation at 817-831-6464 if you have any questions.

Rec Center Seeks Class Instructors

Stage 1 Watering Restrictions In Effect

Under Stage 1 restrictions households and businesses are limited in sprinkler watering to two days per week with the two days determined by the address of the location. Violations are handled by Code Enforcement, 817-222-7732.

  • Residential addresses ending in an even number may water on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Residential addresses ending in an odd number may water on Thursdays and Sundays
  • All non-residential locations, such as apartment complexes, businesses, industries, parks, medians, etc. may water on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • No watering, regardless of address, may take place between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on any day
