Haltom City - Community Projects
Haltom City Community Projects is a division of the Department of Parks & Recreation. Personnel is responsible for coordination of projects relating to environmental and quality of life issues. Activities include beautification, volunteer management, arts development, historic preservation and community improvement. Staff works with other city personnel as well as community members and representatives of other organizations in coordinating programs. This department is responsible for updates to utility bill messages and the city’s activities line.
The Community Projects Coordinator is also coordinator for Keep Haltom City Beautiful (KHCB). Comprised of members of the Haltom City Beautification Board, KHCB supports programs related to litter prevention and cleanup, recycling, watershed protection, beautification, the arts and code enforcement education. KHCB is an affiliate of Keep Texas and Keep America Beautiful. First organized in 1984, and Keep America Beautiful certified in 1990, KHCB is made up of volunteer members appointed by Haltom City Council members.
