The purpose of the Parks & Recreation Board is to make studies and project plans for the improvement and acquisition of public park and open spaces with a view to its development and extension; to recommend to council recreation programs for all segments of the population; to act w/and assist other municipal boards in formulating proper plans for municipal park and open space development.

Appointments are made by the City Council. Meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Recreation Center, located at 4839 Broadway Ave., at 6:00 p.m.
