The purpose of the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is to benefit and accomplish the promotion of industrial and manufacturing enterprises, to promote and encourage employment, and preserve the public welfare of the City.

Appointments are made by the mayor, and at least three members must not be employees or officers of the City or members of the City Council. Meets on an as-needed basis.
