NE Tarrant County’s Hometown Heroes

Congratulations to Dana Coffman, Christi Pruitt & Kristi Starn-Harris

2017 northeast tarrant county hometown heroesThe 2017 Hometown Heroes Annual Luncheon, held on May 18, 2017, celebrated more than 40 local Hometown Heroes from Northeast Tarrant County at the Hurst Conference Center. The event was co-hosted by Super Bowl XXX MVP Larry Brown & Channel 8 Meteorologist Colleen Coyle.

Haltom City selected three wonderful Hometown Heroes that work tirelessly on behalf of the citizens in Haltom City. Those recognized were Dana Coffman, Kristi Starn Harris and Christi Pruitt.

Dana Coffman is the Haltom City Parks Board Chair and has been an active member for five years. She is also the secretary of the Haltom City Girls Softball Association and a member of the Haltom City Citizens Police Academy. She works full time while homeschooling her daughter. Dana and her family are a fixture at all of our city special events where they volunteer wherever we need them.

Kristi Starn-Harris is in her 28th year of teaching in BISD, beginning at Haltom Middle School. She has been the Educational Diagnostician for Haltom Middle since 1997, working with special needs students and helping them get the services they need to be successful. She is also the PTA president of Haltom High School, where she helps to organize fundraising events, including the craft fair and the Drive for Your School with Five Star Ford. She received her undergraduate degree in education from UNT and her Masters from Texas Woman’s University.

Christi Pruitt has been working for the City of Haltom City for 12 years and was recently promoted to the Parks & Recreation Director. She is a graduate from Texas Christian University with a degree in Kinesiology and she bleeds TCU purple! Christi is a founding member of the annual Haltom City Back to School Health Fair, which gives our local elementary and middle school students a free backpack, school supplies, and health screenings. Over the past seven and a half years, her efforts have raised over $170,000! Christi has been happily married to Jeff for 15 years and they have two daughters.

Thank you to Dana, Kristi and Christi for your continued involvement in our city and your outstanding examples of community engagement and leadership.
