Stormwater Management

Environmental Services coordinates the City’s Stormwater Management Program, which is administered by the Department of Public Works. The program includes public education, public involvement/participation, pollution detection and elimination (includes development and enforcement of stormwater pollution control ordinances), construction site runoff control, post-construction management in new development and redevelopment, and pollution prevention/good housekeeping for Municipal Operations. Foremost among the goals of the program are those directed towards preventing the pollution of Haltom City’s waterways, which feed into the Trinity River.

It is everyone’s responsibility for ensuring compliance with stormwater pollution prevention requirements set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. It is the City’s responsibility to provide assistance, guidance, and enforcement when necessary to ensure that the federal, state, and any additional local requirements are met.  Stormwater Management
