The Haltom City Library 50th Birthday Celebration Committee has announced John Meadows as the
winner of their 50th Anniversary Logo Contest. His logo (see at right) will appear on all library patron cards issued in 2011 and all printed event materials.
John, his wife Lisa, and 5 year old son Johnny live in Haltom City. John is originally from Houston but has been in Tarrant County for eight years. He is a commercial architect, working on projects such as the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, the Firefighters Memorial in Trinity Park, and Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Arlington.
“We received 35 amazing pieces of art,” commented committee chairperson Ann Bastable. “We were particularly pleased with the number of entries we got from students.”
To recognize and thank each person who contributed to the contest, all of the logos will be on display at the library between Thanksgiving and New Year’s 2011.

Haltom City Public Library, as part of its golden anniversary celebrations throughout the year, is honoring Haltom City’s historic Churches. To uphold the tradition of getting ice cream at Ashburn’s after visiting the library at its first location at the Haltom Plaza Arcade in the 1960s we will host an ice cream social during the concert intermission. There will also be a display of historic churches at the library during the month of May. All churches which were established 50 or more years are invited to participate.
