The public meeting room is primarily for the use of the Library for conferences, meetings, activities and library programs. Programs sponsored or co-sponsored by the library or other Haltom City departments take precedent over all other programs.
As a service to the community, we also make the meeting room available to other local institutions, organizations and groups of civic, cultural and educational nature and individual residents when the room is not scheduled for use by the library or other city department. Use of the meeting room by these groups or individuals is subject to usage regulations, fees and charges.
Meeting Room Guidelines
1. Library equipment is not available for use by individuals or groups reserving the meeting rooms.
2. Setup, takedown and cleanup of the meeting room is the responsibility of the individual or group reserving the room.
3. All reservations are subject to cancellation in those instances where the library or other city department requires the room for its purposes. In such cases, we will notify the applicant at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled use.
4. The meeting room will not be used for profit or commercial purposes, or for doctrinal or political proselytization. No admission charges, dues, sales or free-will offerings shall be made or required for participation in any meeting or function held in the meeting room. Exceptions are fees for courses or classes that are for instructors and admission charges that cover direct costs of holding the meeting. These exceptions must be approved before the meeting room reservations are accepted.
5. We reserve the right to request a written clarification regarding the organization or group and/or its intended use of the meeting room.
6. We reserve the right to have a library staff member present at any meeting held within the library at no charge to the library.
