Loan Periods
-All library materials (books, audiobooks, magazines and movies) may be checked out for three weeks.
-Any item may be renewed once, unless another individual has placed a reserve on it. Either call Telecirc at 817 871-7771 or go online.
-Other MetrOPAC libraries have separate loan periods.
How to Get a Library Card
-Haltom City residents and business owners qualify for a library card free of charge when they show proof of residency and a picture ID: such as a valid Texas driver's license, DPS identification card, voter registration card, rent receipt or lease agreement, utility bills, or other identifying documents showing a current address. Business owners must show proof of ownership. Cards for children ages 0-13 years require a parent’s or legal guardian’s signature in person. -The application for a new library card can be filled in on-line. Go to the catalog account page and select the “Register for Card” option.
-Non-residents living in one of our shared catalog cities (Benbrook, Burleson, Fort Worth, Keller, Richland Hills, or Watauga) use their own city’s library card in Haltom City as well.
-Individuals residing outside our shared catalog cities may apply for a “non-resident” borrowers’ card by presenting valid identification and proof of residency. The applicant must sign the card, accepting the terms and conditions of the contract. This card will be “punched” and will be valid for use of Haltom City Public Library materials only. Materials from the libraries sharing the automated system and through interlibrary loan are not available on this card.
-TexShare statewide library cards are also available for Haltom City residents.
