Haltom City has become a North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) toll tag vendor. Citizens may purchase a toll tag at the city’s water department counter located inside Haltom City Hall, 5024 Broadway Ave. Toll tags are electronic transponders that can be mounted on the windshield of a vehicle and read by radio frequency as the driver proceeds on a toll road. The tags allow motorists to drive through many toll collection points without having to stop. In addition, toll tag users can save up to 40 percent on normal toll rates.

The city, as a toll tag vendor, receives $5 for each $40 tag, and the region benefits from NTTA funds that go to general transportation improvements.
