Haltom City recently filled the positions of City Secretary and Director of Information Technology.
The new City Secretary position is being filled by Art Camacho, whose first day was Monday, March 17th. Mr. Camacho served as City Secretary for both the City of Azle (from 2005 to March 2008) and the City of Ranger (from 1999 to 2005). In 2003 he received certification in the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program (TMCCP), which is the only State sanctioned university-level professional education program for city clerks/secretaries in Texas. In January 2008 Mr. Camacho completed his five year re-certification for the program.
Mr. Camacho is a trustee on the Texas Municipal Clerks Association (TMCA) Executive Board and served on the TMCA Certification Committee. He co-authored a chapter in the TMCA Handbook, is a Board Liaison for the TMCA Retirement Committee, a previous speaker for Texas Municipal League, and a convener and instructor at the TMCCP’s Election Law Seminars. He was president and vice-president of the TMCA Bluebonnett Chapter and their Clerk of the Year in 2002. He is currently active in the North Texas Municipal Clerks Association Chapter of TMCA.
Mr. Camacho recently received his Associate of Arts Degree from Weatherford College. Art and his wife Robbie have two daughters and one grandson. 
The City also welcomes Scott Joyce, who filled the newly created Director of Information Technology position on March 3rd. Prior to this position, Mr. Joyce was employed by the University of North Texas for nine years as both a Network Administrator and an Assistant Director of Business Services.
Scott Joyce is a 2003 graduate of UNT with a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Business Management.
