The "Citizens on Patrol Service", or COPS, is comprised of concerned citizens who want to help take a stand against crime. Volunteers receive training and operate independently from the Police Department as a non-profit group.
Citizen Patrol volunteers enhance the Department’s efforts in geographic policing by patrolling their own neighborhoods and reporting any unusual or suspicious activity to the Police Department. The Haltom City Police Department believes the actions and efforts of the Citizen Patrol volunteers will reduce crime and improve the overall quality of life for the citizens of Haltom City by increasing neighborhood participation and communication.
