The Professional Standards Division consists of a Sergeant and one police officer. This division coordinates in-service and other mandatory training for all Police Department personnel, works with Human Resources to recruit new Department employees, conducts background investigations, and performs the Internal Affairs function. Internal Affairs aggressively investigates allegations of employee misconduct in order to safeguard the reputation of the Department and maintain the public trust.
