The Criminal Investigations Division Detectives investigate criminal offenses that occur within Haltom City and ensure the proper collection and preservation of evidence related to these crimes. The unit includes ten Detectives and one civilian Administrative Secretary who are supervised by 3 Police Sergeants. One Sergeant supervises two detectives who specialize in crimes against persons, with a second Sergeant supervising three who specialize in property crimes. Another detective specializes in domestic crimes, and another in youth crimes and sex-offender registration. The unit secretary also serves as the Department’s Victim Assistance Coordinator. 

The third Sergeant and one Detective are assigned to the county-wide Metro Narcotics Intelligence and Coordination Unit, and one Haltom City Detective is assigned to the Tarrant County Auto Theft Task Force.
