The Communications Division is under two corporals who provide twenty four hour supervision for twelve 911 Dispatchers.  The Haltom City 911 Call Center operates around-the-clock and handles all 911 calls for Police/Fire emergencies as well as routine non-emergency calls for service during non-business hours.  Other dispatcher duties include entering and confirming warrants, and disseminating information from the state and national communication networks to officers and firefighters.  Dispatchers undergo extensive training to prepare them for the high stress situations they encounter on a daily basis, and they must be certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).
