Chief Keith R. Lane came to Haltom City in 2009 from Keller Police Department where he served for twenty-two years. He served in almost every division in the Department and retired as Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division. Since assuming the position in Haltom City, Chief Lane has formed a Bike Patrol Unit, a Street Crimes Unit and a DWI Unit.He currently serves as Chief’s Liaison to the
regional Child Abduction Response Team (CART), which has 19 member agencies/entities and 39 active members. He was recently appointed as Program Coordinator of the Cobra BMV Bait Car Operations Initiative.
Chief Lane holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Texas State University, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University, and is also a graduate of the Leadership Command College at Sam Houston State University. Chief Lane has two sons, Nick and Gage.
